About Miranda Langston
It's important to fill your own cup. This analogy has been used time and again in reference to addressing our own needs. Maybe you are going through a rough transition or have struggled with depression or anxiety for several years. You might be labeled the "sensitive one" or on the opposite side of that, find that expressing strong emotions feels foreign until you hit a breaking point. Life often holds unexpected challenges that can lead to overwhelm, leading us to fall into less ideal versions of ourselves as we navigate through them.
My hope is to come alongside you in facing whatever challenges you have found. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (License # 99217). I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology through Tarleton State University and returned to earn my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. In between that time, I worked one year for a prison treatment center before joining the team at a local MHMR as a case manager. I discovered my true passion for working with others through hardships during this time and it led me to seek an education in the counseling profession.
During graduate school, I had the opportunity to work with all ages and explore expressive arts therapy through my internship at The Art Station in Fort Worth, Texas. I was mesmerized at the way creativity could unveil complex emotions and aid in the process of healing. I still enjoy utilizing these interventions at the preference of my clients!
I spend my time outside of the office with my family. My husband and I can typically be found getting into shenigans with our three children, ages 9, 6, and 4. I love the arts, live music, and spontaneous plans.
I provide counseling services tailored to the needs of children, adolescents, and adults. I believe in utilizing a combination of person-centered, strength-based, Gestalt-oriented, and expressive arts interventions.
